Robert Ekey, Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Mary Washington, earned an M.A. and Ph.D. at Bryn Mawr College, and a B.S. at Dickinson College. His research interests include the structure and dynamics of small molecules and atoms; sound, music and room acoustics; and physics education reform. As an undergraduate at Dickinson College, he began developing his interactive and inquiry based teaching style through various experiences with Workshop Physics and other activity based pedagogies. At UMW, Bob teaches General Physics and advanced courses in Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics and Spectroscopy. His goal as a teacher is to encourage and enable students to achieve a mastery of physics and to spark their curiosity about the many amazing aspects of physics. He is a member of the PKAL F21 class of 2007.
