The PLTL Workshop model exposes undergraduates to methods of group study, provides facilitated help for students in courses where students tend to seek outside help, enhances students communication abilities, provides an active-learning experience for students, and creates a leadership role for undergraduates as peer leaders where they learn teaching and group-management skills.

The PLTL Workshop model engages teams of six to eight students in learning sciences, mathematics and other undergraduate disciplines guided by a peer leader. The PLTL Workshop model:- provides an active learning experience for students
- creates a leadership role for undergraduates
