In the pursuit of developing departments “that work”, STEM departments and programs recognize that successful learning environments include experiential learning opportunities that often integrate many fields of inquiry. These opportunities take many forms and lead to many challenges. In this session, three speakers, Lance Shipman from Morehouse College and a FIRST Fellow, Joanne Berger-Sweeney from Wellesley College and co-director of the Psychobiology Program, and Joseph Pollard from Furman University and Biology chair, will share on their perspective of what works and lead the following breakout sessions.
