Microbiology Position - West Virginia Wesleyan College

West Virginia Wesleyan College invites applications for a tenure-track position in microbiology to begin in August 2009. In addition to microbiology courses for biology and nursing majors, teaching responsibilities may include immunology or physiology, depending on the candidates' area of expertise, as well as introductory courses. Ph.D. in microbiology/bacteriology or closely related field required. Specific research focus open. The successful candidate will have broad training, versatility, dedication to quality teaching and advising, and a strong commitment to carrying out research with undergraduates.

West Virginia Wesleyan College is a liberal arts college of ~1250 students, located in Buckhannon, West Virginia. The Department of Biology and Environmental Science at West Virginia Wesleyan College includes 5 other faculty and two staff members. We offer degrees in Biology (with concentrations in ecology/field biology or in molecular biology) and Environmental Science, and we enthusiastically support a growing number of undergraduate research students. The Biology program serves approximately 100 majors, and 54% of graduates go on to graduate or professional schools.
