Biology (Geneticist) Position - University of Southern Indiana

The University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a tenure-track position at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level in Biology to begin August 2009. The successful candidate must be a broadly trained GENETICIST able to teach molecular and classical topics. Teaching responsibilities include an upper-level course in genetics and rotation through Principles of Biology for majors. Additional teaching assignments would depend on the qualifications of the successful candidate; expertise in molecular laboratory techniques is expected. Candidates with evidence of excellence in college/university teaching are preferred. Publication and engagement of undergraduate students in candidate's research activities are expected. Standard molecular laboratory equipment is housed in the department. Modest start-up funds available. Ph.D. is preferred, exceptional ABD considered.
