Summer Leadership Institute
Application Procedures
Deadline Extended: May 8, 2009
Participants will be selected from applicants who have submitted materials that include:
- a one-page discussion of their concept of leadership and their understanding of their leadership potential, given the context for facilitating interdisciplinary STEM learning on their campus.
- a one-page description of his/her role as a member of the FIDL team on the campus and of a particular FIDL task within the team that s/he will undertake in the coming academic year.
- two letters of reference (one from outside their campus community) about their demonstrated promise as leaders in interdisciplinary efforts at the local, regional, or national level.
- a letter of commitment from a representative of their Keck FIDL team in support of the proposed task to be undertaken as a member of the FIDL team.
Note to applicants not participating in the PKAL Keck program - we have modified the second and fourth items in the application as follows:
- a one-page description of his/her role as a member of an interdisciplinary program team on their campus and of a particular interdisciplinary program task within the team that s/he will undertake in the coming academic year.
- a letter of commitment from their chief academic officer (dean or provost) in support of the proposed task to be undertaken as a member of an interdisciplinary program team.
