Part 3.2.4 Classrooms
- Coordinating Campus-Wide Classroom Planning
- What factors need to be considered when developing a campus-wide classroom plan? How can architects/planners and institutional planning groups work effectively to develop a classroom plan that addresses the wide variety of pedagogical approaches employed in higher education? In this session we will share our recent experiences in developing an effective campus-wide classroom plan.
- Creating Spaces that Support Active Hands-on Investigation
- James Baird, a principal at Holabird & Root, poses and explores four questions regarding research space and the planning to build these spaces. Through the proper use of appropriate technology, group learning across disciplines can be attained. Looking at common spaces, classrooms and laboratories he shows how the room will vary according to the purpose. The space should serve the user and allow for future flexibility.
