The upcoming PKAL San Diego Regional Gathering is on October 10 at the University of San Diego. All San Diego area faculty and administrators committed to strengthening the undergraduate STEM learning environment are invited to attend.

The gathering begins at 5:00 pm with registration and a tour of the University of San Diego Shiley Center for Science and Technology. For directions to the Center please click here.

Following the tour, dinner will begin at 6:00 pm and is sponsored by Research Facilities Design.

If you are unable to join us for the tour, dinner will be held in Joan Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice (Room C). Click here for directions.

To attend, please register online by Monday, October 8. There is a small registration fee of $10. Invoices for the registration fee will be mailed after the event.

The purpose of this gathering is to establish a San Diego Network of STEM leaders, discussing the need for:

  • incorporating investigative learning broadly into the curriculum.
  • enhancing the support structures and resources for developing innovative teaching methods
  • developing interdisciplinary science courses within institutions with a traditional departmental organization
  • improving links between students and faculty in community colleges and 4-year institutions (or research facilities) to promote shared research projects and learning experiences.

Please join us.
