Having trouble moving to next steps in your planning and/or implementing? Are you eager to share what works with other interdisciplinary colleagues?
Connect with other communities grappling with and solving these issues at the Keck/PKAL Summer Institute where you will:
- Recharge your project team
- Map current and visionary curriculum for ID programs
- Capitalize on commonalities
- Share best practices for planning, implementing, and assessing
- Refine your assessment plan
- Share resources with other teams
- Contribute to the national conversation on ID STEM
The first Keck/PKAL Summer Institute on Facilitating Interdisciplinary Learning in STEM Fields will be held on July 29-31 at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. With the input from participants in the Keck/PKAL Roundtable on Assessment that was recently held in Baltimore, three broad themes have been identified for sessions at the Summer Institute:
- The Politics of Change – Implementing and Sustaining Transformative ID STEM Curricula
- ID Programmatic Structures & Models
- Assessment of ID STEM Learning
In addition, we intend to have presentations on strategies for securing external grants to support ID programs, web-based mechanisms that will facilitate communication and the sharing of resources between teams, and design aspects of facilities that foster ID learning.
We will be scheduling a Webinar for some time in May during which we intend to disseminate further details regarding the meeting agenda and ask for feedback from teams.
