PKAL Learning Spaces Collaboratory
Green Chemistry—Green Building—Green Campus
July 30, 2010
St. Olaf College
Northfield, Minnesota
One-day workshops on a particular aspect of planning learning spaces will be a key feature of the PKAL LSC. We begin with a workshop on July 30, 2010 at St. Olaf College: Green Chemistry—Green Building—Green Campus.
This will be an opportunity to explore how the “sustainable sciences” can be a driver for integrating curricular and facilities planning.
The story will be in three parts:
- the evolution of St. Olaf’s green chemistry curriculum and how that program influenced the planning of St. Olaf's new science facility
- the steps taken during the planning and construction process that capitalized on the evidence of the effectiveness of the green chemistry initiative
- the impact on campus-wide efforts to strengthen STEM learning, achieve aggressive ‘sustainable’ operational goals for the physical plant, and signal what is important to the St. Olaf campus community.
The event will take place in Regents Hall and begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m. Lunch is provided. There is no registration fee.
- To attend, register online.
St. Olaf College and Boldt Construction are hosting the workshop, which is offered in collaboration with the PKAL LSC.
Please come and/or alert any colleagues/clients/potential clients about this opportunity.
