The Keck/PKAL Facilitating Interdisciplinary (ID) Learning Project Orientation Meeting
ACE Conference Center
Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania
August 3 - 5, 2008

This first meeting of participating institutions was an introduction to the project and a discussion of the goals and expected outcomes as well as a dialogue about interdisciplinarity.

Our meeting goals were for participating institutions to:

  1. Become more familiar with the overall project goals and expectations
  2. Provide input and insight into the project goals
  3. Better understand the common barriers and promising practices for developing, implementing and assessing undergraduate interdisciplinary programs
  4. Establish relationships and connect with projects of similar scope, intent and circumstance; learn from one another
  5. Develop a preliminary project plan; leave with a clear sense of fall semester program expectations and deadlines
